After earning her bachelor’s degree in Human Service Studies from Queens University of Charlotte in 2014, Chanelle dedicated a year of service and began her career as an AmeriCorps Member at Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte. Upon completing her first year of service, Chanelle’s passion for youth development led her to an AmeriCorps service year with The Choice Program. Chanelle had a strong desire to work with the youth and families in the Prince Georges County community, where she grew up. After her year of service, Chanelle was promoted to a full time staff position as the Service Coordinator for the Montgomery County Intensive Advocacy team. After five years of serving youth and families in Maryland, Chanelle has transitioned in to the Programs Manager role at DCFYI. As the Programs Manager, Chanelle desires to continue to amplify youth voice while connecting them with long lasting relationships that foster growth and resilience. In her spare time, Chanelle enjoys spending time with family and friends over a good meal.

Chanelle lives by her alma mater’s motto: non ministrari sed ministrare, "not to be served, but to serve."
