My name Seray Sylla. I am originally from West Africa, Sierra Leone. I moved to the United States in 2008 for better opportunities. I am a recent graduate from Green Mountain College with a dual-degree in Sustainable Business and Communication Study. Growing up my family didn’t have much but at the end of the day I knew I was loved, cared for, and have a safe home to return to. I believe in the “no child left behind” slogan so no child should be deprived of the human necessities. We all deserve to be treated with love, respect, and care. I have no idea how it feels to be in the foster care system but I sure do know how to help those who know. I joined the FYI team because I want help, I want to make a difference, and I want to show these teens that they matter.
